shadow empire                  jonesstables7 barn           j drozd                       10/1

This five year old son of Medaglia D’Oro makes just his fourth start on turf here today with thirty-two career starts on dirt resulting in twelve finishes in the money. He had a third place finish last time out at an allowance race where he ran 103 speed over nine furlongs.  He is coming in off less than three weeks rest and this combined with the surface switch may be too much for him to overcome. He will not be a factor here today.

zablington                           frontrunna barn                 v jennings                5/1

This five year old son of Harlington has amassed more than $650,000 thanks to some great  results at Graded Stakes races in the past. He has a win and two runner ups at this level and has a third place finish at Grade 1. He comes in well rested and should rebound from a disappointing finish last time out in late May. He will be in the mix and could find a spot on the board.

barb’s crusade                    zbarb8 barn                         b f abman                 7/1

This four year old son of Noble Mission has five wins in nineteen career starts with two coming at stakes races. Previous Grade 2 starts resulted in a seventh and eighth place finish. He has finished outside the money in all of his starts this year despite showing good speed. He hopes to turn things around here today out of the three hole.

dark n de sabled                  alimitos10 barn               w kewmwa              18/1

This four year old son of Dance in the Dark had a string of three straight races on poly before returning to the turf last time out with a third place finish where he ran 105 speed over nine furlongs.  He has finished in the money in just seven of his twenty career starts with just two wins. His past performances suggest he performs best at a mile or less so it will be interesting to see how he handles this distance here.

dr. roski                                farm2017 barn                   j piotrowski             7/1

This four year old son of Dr. Large has finished in the money in fifteen of his nineteen starts including seven wins. He had a streak of four in a row end last time out when he finished third at an allowance in New York where he ran 107 speed over eight furlongs. He stretches things out here for the first time as he has never gone more than nine furlongs in any of his previous starts. It will be interesting to see how he responds.

dark munning                       lightng barn                      g owans                    11/1

This five year old son of Munnings has finished in the money in twelve of his thirty career starts with two wins. He finished fourth last time out at the “Exbourne Phantom Turf Route” where he ran 104 speed over ten furlongs. He has failed to hit the board in seven previous Graded Stakes starts but hopes to change that here today.

city of giants                       jonesstables1 barn           b scott                       9/1

This four year old son of Choisir has finished in the money in nine of his seventeen starts with his most recent result being a fifth place finish at the “Best of the Bunch Turf Challenge”. He has had some success on dirt and turf in his career but has never raced at this distance and has had most of his success at five to seven furlongs. Not sure he will have enough at the end to compete here.

red route                             coolk2 barn                         a rolling                    9/2

This four year old son of New Approach has finished in the money in thirteen of his nineteen career starts including six wins. He posted big 115 speed last time out in a win at an allowance race that covered twelve furlongs.  He has performed very well at this distance in the past and might be a nice surprise against this field of ten.

lusinchi                                 thehaack barn                    j selden                     5/1

This five year old son of Dalakhani finished in the money in fourteen of his first sixteen starts and has exceeded one-million dollars in career earnings. Unfortunately he has not hit the board in his last five starts dating back to early November 2017 despite averaging 107 speed in those starts. He hopes to rebound to his winning ways here today out of the nine hole.

how they shine                  temp1 barn                         w cahill                     7/2

This five year old daughter of Sea the Stars has eleven wins in eighteen starts with three of the wins coming at Grade 2 and one at Grade 1. She has earned more than 2.8 million dollars and should add to that total here today. She has limited experience against the boys but has performed well in those races and will not be overmatched here today. She will be a deserving favorite.
