Restricted to 3 Year Olds and Older
16 Furlongs on Turf

1) hi all the time
beetees farm
m zeus                                                  7/1

Out of the beetees farm is this four year old FRANKEL stallion. He comes in off back to back wins at allowance races that covered twelve and fourteen furlongs. He has had 100+ speed in five of his eleven starts and had career best 111 speed three starts back. He should be able to handle the distance and might be a nice surprise out of the one hole.

2) wild daze
lakehaven farm
k damo                                                 6/1

Out of the lakehaven farm is this five year old JUST A WAY stallion. He comes in off a win last time out at an allowance race that covered fourteen furlongs. He has finished in the money in twelve of eighteen starts including a runner up finish at the Moon Cresta Turf Endurance. He has not raced at this distance previously but his past performances have prepared him well for the two mile trip.

3) outback anomaly
outback2 farm
m scott                                                 5/1

Out of the outback2 farm is this four year old KITTEN’S JOY filly. She comes in off three straight wins with the most recent coming at the Lent Whistle Turf Mare Special where she ran 106 speed at this distance. She faces off against the boys for the first time here but I think she will find a spot on the board and keep her perfect “finishing in the money streak” going.

4) promulgate
frankster farm
j cox                                                     7/2

Out of the frankster farm is this five year old DECLARATION OF WAR stallion. He comes in off a third place finish at Grade 2 The Kergorlay where he ran 107 speed over fourteen furlongs. He has won three times at this distance with one coming at The ESR Bathtub Stakes so he will be comfortable here and with that resume may be the one to beat. He will definitely be in the mix.

5) former bigdaddy
candirocks farm
m harzheim                                                       3/1

Out of the candirocks farm is this five year old INVINCIBLE SPIRIT stallion. He has competed at Graded Stakes in nine of his last ten starts resulting in just two third place finishes. The other start was a win at ten furlong allowance race where he ran impressive 113 speed.  Despite the good odds I don’t think he will handle this distance as he has seemed to tire in past races greater than ten furlongs.

6) spare no oil
whip2win farm
e eberhard                                                        17/1

Out of the whip2win farm is this three year old DISTORTED HUMOUR gelding. He has finished in the money in seven of his eight starts. He comes in off a win last time out at the Royalty Cecil Turf Endurance where he ran 101 speed at this distance. He is returning to the track on just twenty-three days rest and against this competition might fare better with a longer layoff. Won’t be in the mix here today but is one to keep an eye on.

7) dark indian
alimitos1 farm
g arnold                                                3/1

Out of the alimitos1 farm is this five year old ARCH stallion. He has over three million in career earnings with two Grade 1 wins and a win at Grade 2 and 3 contributing greatly to that total.  He has finished in the money in nine of his eighteen Graded Stakes starts and should add to that here today out of the seven hole.

8) malibring
lordpye4 farm
j wilson                                                 13/1

Out of the lordpye4 farm is this three year old SEBRING gelding. He comes in off a fifth place finish at the Grade 3 Gordy Stakes but had a third place finish in the race prior The Seventh King Eddy Stakes. He has finished in the money in six of nine career starts and his speed is trending in the right direction. He should be okay with the distance but might be overmatched here against this field.

  1. Sorry you got booted, Pye

Yes, really sorry….If you’d made the cut, perhaps I wouldn’t have had to settle for second

  2. You’re right…he wasn’t in the mix…he was far, far ahead of it ;-)

    • Congrats!!! Great Race!! Wish I could bring my horses back on three weeks rest. What are you feeding him? Continued success.

      • It’s not too much a problem if you do it sparingly–especially with only 9 (now 10) races under his belt. Was actually trying to get in the $3M Saint Legend, but he got booted from that field. This ended up being a pleasant backup plan!
