Well definitely not my best bunch going this week, but despite that quite a few horses found the money and I got a huge performance from BLUEGRASS BLAME that I’m hoping may be the start of something special.  I’m looking forward to next week a bit more as two of my favorites (STRIKE PAY DIRT & ZAPP DADDY) come back to the track.

Weekly Record – 42-5-3-5 Stopped at SUNDAYJAZZ Weekly Win % = 11.9% ITM % = 30%

Last Weeks’ Watch List: VIBRANIUM (RAVEN’S PASS x RAHY x NIJINKSY 2ND) – Ran back to back seconds and was scheduled to run 8 furlongs this week for the second time. I thought the experience would put her over the top but he had other days and didn’t fire coming down the stretch. A little bit of regression with respect the speed figs saw him record a 76 in the 6th place finish.

WAKANDA SOHO (SEBRING x UNBRIDLED’S SONG x A.P. INDY) – The stretch out on the dirt helped her mightily this week but still wasn’t enough to get her over the hump as she’d go on to finish 2nd place. She recorded a 78 speed fig but will likely get some additional distance in her next start.

PROTON POWER (MACLEAN’S MUSIC x TIZNOW x TAPIT) – She ran in the Homecoming Dance Dirt Juvenile this week and was very over matched. It probably didn’t help that she was trying 8 furlongs for the first time as well. She’d finish 11th while maintaining her career high speed fig of 76.

BLUEGRASS BLAME (BLAME x BLUEGRASS CAT x VINDICATION) – You know when you breed a horse and you get that warm feeling like you just caught lightning in a bottle? Well that was this guy when I bred him and he’s yet to run a bad race for me. This week he graduated from his maiden posting a 91 speed fig going 8 furlongs on the dirt.

Studs: PYRO FIGHTER (PYRO x DEPUTY MINISTER x SILVER GHOST) – He seemingly woke up on the turf in his last posting a 75 speed fig going 6.5 furlongs but just missed by a length, so this week he was brought back to the turf at 7 furlongs and put up a great performance stalking the pace before running past his rivals in the stretch to victory.

ARMORED SAINT (EL KABEIR x SAINT BALLADO x ELUSIVE QUALITY) – He was given the switch to turf this week and ran a solid third place going 5.5 furlongs. He showed some good signs of improvement as well with the speed figs jumping into the 70’s for the first time in 4 starts.

FREE DYNOMITE (FREE EAGLE (IRE) x DYNAFORMER x ARENA (AUS) – She’s been one of my best earners since being claimed for $7,500 back in March. This week she’d run 8.5 furlongs against 50K maiden NW4L’s on the turf and cruise to a 2nd place. Her record in 7 runs since finding her way into my barn is 2-1-2, with her earnings at $42,811 and BPs at 95.   C

HARISMATIC HERO (SOCIAL INCLUSION x HERO’S AND CROOKS x CHARISMATIC) – Always the bridesmaid and never the bride, this guy went on to run his 5th 2nd place of the year against Allowance NW1x’s. I think I may move this Florida bred to the local level in his next.

LET’S PLAY HOUSE (DECLARATION OF WAR x KRIS x SIR IVOR) – This son of DOW got his first victory against allowance NW1x’s going 5 furlongs on the dirt. He posted a 74 speed fig in the effort and may get a stretch to 5.5 or 6 furlongs in his next.

DANEHILL INDY (TAKE CHARGE INDY x MIZZEN MAST x DANEHILL DANCER) – Dropped this guy into claimers this week and he ran well but ultimately didn’t have enough real estate. He went 5 furlongs in which he stalked the pace but didn’t have enough kick to get up for the victory against maiden 125K claimers. He’d finish 3rd with an unimpressive 69 speed fig, but I did come away with the tactical speed he showed.

STRATE CASH HOMIE (EFFINEX x STORM BIRD x VALID APPEAL) – She put in a big effort this week against local allowance NY breds. Going two turns for the first time against winners she proved that she’s very capable as she’d run by her foes with no problem in the stretch to get up for her 2nd victory.

Duds: KNUCKLE UP (TONALIST x WILD AGAIN x SIR IVOR) – She was given class relief this week and it didn’t exactly go as planned. She stays consistent with her 3rd 6th place finish in a row and posts a measly 58 speed fig against 60K Maiden Claimers.

SEGWAY (EXCEED AND EXCEL x MONTJEU x LEMON DROP KID) – Her speed figs continue to rise in conjunction with the cuts in distance but she’s still not doing nearly enough to be competitive. This week saw her finish 5th by about 4 lengths going 5 furlongs on the turf. Probably going to try dirt before giving her the class drop into claimers.

IRISH PADRE (CARAVAGGIO x MACHIAVELLIAN x SLEW O’ GOLD) – After breaking the maiden she’d come back to run against allowance foes on a bit of a stretch out to 7.5 furlongs. She ran well early but the distance proved to be a little too much for her as she’d go on to finish 7th by about 6.5 lengths.

PUB KING (KING KAMEHAMEHA x COZZENE x KONIGISSTHUL) – He hasn’t been close in any of his 3 starts. The only thing he does really well right now is lose ground no matter the distance. Going to give routing a shot on the turf before I make a knee jerk reaction and geld him.

Watch List: STRIKE PAY DIRT (BERNARDINI x SMART STRIKE x WILD AGAIN) – Ran 7 furlongs after breaking the maiden and tired in the stretch to finish 2nd. Going to give 7 furlongs a go again and see if he can sustain his speed all the way through this time.

SNYPER (GENERAL A ROD x NUREYEV x PIONEEROF THE NILE) – I probably should have given him a stretch to 8 furlongs on the dirt, but I’m giving him a shot on the turf instead. Hoping the surface switch wakes him up in the stretch.

GREEN MINESTER (MINESHAFT x KRIS S. x STORM BIRD) – 8 furlongs proved to be a little too far for him in the debut so we are cutting him back to 7 furlongs to see if that gets him over.

ZAPP DADDY (GHOSTZAPPER x SCAT DADDY x TAPIT) – Getting the stretch to a mile in his next in what looks like a much needed extension in distance.

WILD SAMURAI (WILDCAT RED x DEHERE x FIRST SAMURAI) – Got passed easily down the stretch going 6 furlongs in the Dublin Lass. She’s coming back this week to run in the Ms.Wagwhat Dirt Stakes for one more shot at stakes company.

NO SWEARING (MR SPEAKER x ROSES IN MAY x MR. GREELEY) – Broke the maiden at first asking going 5 furlongs on the dirt. He’ll stretch out to 6 furlongs on the dirt to see if he can handle the distance against winners.

HOLIDAY ROYALE (VERRAZANO x WILD AGAIN x SIR IVOR) – He relished the opportunity at routing in his last and will go two turns on the dirt once again in his first time against winners.

Debuting 2 Year Olds STORMY BROWN (BIG BROWN x STORM CAT x DARSHAAN) – Out of OVERPASS KITTY he’ll be going 6 furlongs on the dirt in the debut.

STREET LIFE DREAM (STREET SENSE x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY x SEATTLE SLEW) – Out of XTREMELY A WISH he’ll be going 6 furlongs on the dirt in the debut.
