Three Quarters of a Mile on Turf

fastnet gold                              harold barn                                          l fontain                       7/2

This four year old son of FASTNET ROCK has finished in the money in twelve of his eighteen starts with an impressive ten wins and a streak of three in a row. He ran 110 speed going wire to wire last time out at the Grade 3 Desert Airport Trophy in England. He will find a spot on the board here today and may just have enough to keep the winning streak alive.

cheap way out                          danmarko2 barn                       b doherty                     6/1

This five year old son of EL NINO has finished in the money in eleven of his sixteen starts and had a big Grade 2 win at this distance at the Duke of Mork back in May. He comes in off a third place finish at the Grade 2 Drummer Boy where he ran 104 speed. He will face good competition here but will compete and should be in contention coming down the stretch.

sherpa ray’s tap                        browns2 barn                           k uglebjerg                      3/1

This four year old son of TAPIT has finished in the money in thirteen of his eighteen career starts. He had a streak of three straight wins come to an end last time out as he made the jump to Grade 1 and finished tenth at the Longchamp Sprint. He will fare better here and his recent big speed numbers may see him return to the winner’s circle.

dolorous edd                           mschweitzer10 barn                 t small                          3/1

This six year old son of EMPIRE MAKER has finished in the money in fourteen of his twenty-six starts including nine wins. He comes in off back to back runner up finishes and has topped 100 speed in twenty straight starts. This will be only his second start on turf and only his fourth start this year as he took a long break from March to September. He is trying this distance for the first time since his debut race with almost all of his races being at a mile.

dark be my candy                     wyndaway barn                        h harzheim                      37/1

This four year old son of GIROLAMO has finished in the money in just six of his twenty-four career starts with all but seven coming on the dirt. He has three career wins with one coming at each surface. He has had a tough year having finished outside the money in all seven of his starts and unfortunately I don’t see that trend changing here today against this competitive field.

le clezio                                   fpv barn                                   h artack                        6/1

This four year old son of DAWN APPROACH has finished in the money in sixteen of his eighteen career starts with nine wins. He comes in off a big win at the Grade 3 Hundred Tower Stakes where he ran 107 speed over six furlongs. He has had a great year with all of his starts resulting in victory or a runner up finish. He should continue his string of success and will be one to reckon with here.

oasis mambo                           ddstables barn                         m zeus                         6/1

This four year old son of OASIS DREAM has finished in the money in nine of his nineteen career starts and has amassed more than one-million in earnings. Wins at Grade 2 and 3 and a big runner up finish at Grade 1 The 2000 Guineas accounted for most of that total. He is coming in off a win last time out when he ran 111 speed at this distance at the Local Championship Stakes in England. He will be one to watch here out of the seven hole.

ocean pass                               comedic barn                           r rosportz                     6/1

This five year old son of OCEAN PARK has finished in the money in twelve of his twenty-four career starts. He ran 104 speed last time out in a runner up finish at the Argonath Turf Sprint at New South Wales. He comes in well rested and should like this distance and will be in the mix against this field of eight.

  1. Not very often I can read a preview of one of my horses, I appreciate your work :)

Fastnet Rock just lasted to give him his 1st G2 win. Another couple of metres and the second horse would of got him though. Time for him to have a rest

  2. enjoyed the article
