Week 7 turned out to be a slow week for Thechallenge2 stable. Only a pair of horses galloped on the track this week.
SHAUNS STORM remained at the 7.5 furlong distance and stayed at the WY track, saving us alot of travel costs. He nudged up a small step in claiming to $3,500 level, pretty insignificant. He was very slow to get moving after trailing in the 8th spot and it wasn’t until he was in the stretch that he made a move. He managed to get to the wire in 2nd place but was well off the winner, some three lengths back. The 11 horse field got us 2 sire cards, both the low end G variety and staying at the same track helped enhance the BP payout to 20.
Racing 35 times KRYGYZSTAN had never set foot on the dirt, that is, until this week. He would end up in a bit of a pricey starter allowance that had a $60k tag attached to it. He also ran a distance of 9.5 furlongs and his first trip on the dirt was a gamble and I did not expect much. But the 104 speed this six year old produced was much more than expected and he finished third advancing from 9 off the lead at the half to trim that down to under 2 strides. A pair of sire cards for the 8 horse field both came out as G’s. In addition, 12 BP’s were obtained.
A total of 4 G’s add into the 4 already on hand push the sum to 8. Making it trade-up time to gain an F and leaving 3 G’s in the hand. Total cards now held are 3-E, 1-F, 3-G’s. As for the BP bank, we picked up 32 this week and uping the balance to a nice 511.
Last week there was a vacancy in the stable which has been filled by AP’s Golden Mummy, the horse that was bred with high-end sire, DS and DDS. He’s finished second in both of his starts and will be training for a few weeks, prepping to break his maiden. This upcoming week we should be able to find spots for four horses.
