It’s been a while since the Spotlight feature has produced a tipsheet so here we go.   Good weather conditions are expected for Friday in British Columbia for it’s 9 race program and here are my picks for each race:

Race 1   Allowance  Race ID : 2229648

1-Red Riding Rouge  13/1-Sharp in win in last outing at 11/1.  Been ITM last fiver.  Higher odds off better rewards.

6-Bijou Basin  4/1-Been fifth last two at 7.5 furlongs.  Slices back to 6 flanks and may find some improvement.

7-The Frozen Dance  16/1-Speed numbers have been lower then foes in this field.  Has been racing in stake events and class relief could get the boost she needs.

Race 2  Claiming    Race ID : 2241625

5  Winnipeg Wrestler   6/1-Finished 2nd last time she was on dirt missing by neck.  Gets a bit more distance and 2 year old has been dropping in claiming.  May be the winning formula.

4  Yield of Tweed  7/2-Like the High Yield x Seeking the Gold backside of the pedigree.  She finished 2nd in her debut and could improve.

1  Fireshine  1/2-Favorite is making debut and is out of Firespike.  Don’t know much about this sire but since she is heavily favored, I’ll toss her in.

Race 3 Maiden Claiming   Race ID : 2242969

4  Untickit  4/1-Missed by half a length in dirt debut last month.  Speed of 75 looks good with this very short field and odds are very favorable.

2  Damoclis  9/5-  Speedster tends to tire and finished third on dirt debut in last start which was back in November with speed of 74.  Comes off layoff and may easily push that number upward and a win is reachable.

Race 4  Claiming  Race ID : 2242970

1  Lucielle Paradise  5/2-Favorite enters off sharp win with 108 speed battling with allowance group.  Enters in high end claimer and looks solid here.  11 of 17 finishing first or second.

7  Seeking A Glance  7/1-Victorious in last two outings at this 6.5f distance in high end claimers, popping 102 & 103 speeds.  Expect late closer to be running.

3  Zetro  9/1-Taking chance on this one who is moving back to dirt after long absence.  Has been ITM 9 of 14 dirt runs and return might kick things back into gear for a mare who has been tailing off on turf.

Race 5   MSW   Race ID : 2242971

6  Saving Place  7/1-Speed numbers have been improving in each turf start.  Maybe to the point where he break maiden.

3-Whitecaps  2/1-Posted speeds in mid to upper 80′s in last pair of starts on dirt.  Flips back to turf with hopes this will carry over and earn a win.

7-Devil’s Corner  7/2-Poor debut for son of Giant’s Causeway back in November.  Took break to mature and will give it another shot.

Race 6  Maiden Claiming  Race ID : 2242972

6  ALaday D  3/1  Dropped out of MSW to claimers in last and closed to finish second at 5f with 75 speed.  Adds half of a flank which is not much but speed numbers work well in this group of 3yo.

7  Limit The Bullets  8/1-Vast improvement in speed to 73 and second place finish when dumped into $2k claimers in last.  Moves way up to high end claimers here and could carry the momentum upwards.

10  Slipbet  6/1-Ran third when switching out of MSW for claimers in last.  Looks better suited for claim class at the moment.

Race 7   MSW  Race ID : 2242973

9  Halfway To Morn  5/2-Turf looks like right fit for filly.  Speeds of mid-70′s are good against this field and scales back to mini 4.5f.  Shorter may help to break maiden.

7  Tifeedie  5/2-Was second by under stride on dirt dropping in distance to 5 furlongs.  Keeping distance shorter may be key with going back to grass.

2  Summer Ticket  5/1-Three of five ITM on turf.   In spot to add to the tally.

Race 8  Maiden Claiming   Race ID : 2242974

1  Bunker Bay  1/5-Makes first time spot and Pedigree has underline connections to turf bloodlines such as Sadler’s Wells, Oasis Dream and Galileo.   Capable of winning first time out of gate.

4  Blazing Sunset  5/1-Out of stake winning mare which is primary reason for selection in rare very mini sized 2yo race.

Race 9   Allowance   Race ID : 2242975

1  Petro in The Bank  5/2-Won easily at 9f two back and scored win at 8.5f back in August with 100 speed.   Has been first or second in all 8 turf starts.  Can take down heavy favorite.

3  In From Reegina   3/5-Has run speeds of 100+ in four of last five which were n dirt.  Moves back to turf where three of five career wins were obtained.

6  Leizaran  4/1-Late runner has done well at 9f and is capable of spoiling the top two selections chances in this one.
