The Elite Racing Club visits The Curragh in County Kildare,  Ireland for this month’s stakes contest,  the Dynaformer.  We get to see some tough older turf milers battle it out for the winner’s share of the $100,000 purse on tap.  The victorious connections will get the royal treatment after the race at the boisterous trophy presentation.  They will also receive the largest share of the stakes bonus points the club awards towards an annual club champion.

This is a pretty competitive field going to post here,  including a pair of upset minded ladies.  Jb3commish sends out the longest shot on the board at 17/1 odds,  as he continues with preparations for his inaugural JB3 Festival in two weeks.  Amir1605 and newfydowns saddle 10/1 shots;  newfy’s one of the females.  Dunnvilledowns is next with a 7/1 chance,  a fairly new gelding.  The always dangerous dontbetonme filly is held at 6/1 on the morning line,  while managing director summerset has a 9/2 shot.  Club co-founder jbcri09 has the second choice at 5/2,  and harrylan sends out the handicapper’s choice at 2/1.
.
Let’s take a closer look at them in post position order and see if the figures may suggest a winner.

JUST  A  JUMPER                                     JPN     4F     dontbetonme         A Jones         6/1
.
Heading up the post parade is this beautiful bay filly,  who exits a game 2nd in a NW4L allowance at this route,  zinging a 109 SP# from mid pack.  Just A Way jogger,  out of the sim mare Mine Jumper (by North Light) was 2nd one before that at 8.5 panels in the same condition,  zapping a 110 SP# with a similar trip.  Her previous start was an even 3rd at 6.5 furlongs against the boys in a local bred allowance,  zipping a 96 SP#.  Should get a ground saving trip from the rail post,  could hold on for a piece of the purse on top try for the dontbetonme barn.

PROPERTY  LORD                                     PA     4M     amir1606         M Quill         10/1
.
Lord Shanakill loper,  out of the stakes winning sim mare Japan Property (by Deep Impact) roared down the straight to get the money an an open allowance at 9.5 furlongs on a “good” surface,  popping a 112 SP#  from the middle of the pack.  Bucking brown colt was a a fast closing,  very close 5th in a local bred allowance at this distance one back of that,  posting a 101 SP#.  His prior try was a gaining 2nd in a NW4x allowance at 8.25 panels,  punching a 105 SP# from last of seven.  Amir1605 trainee should be motoring down the straight,  could get there with smooth trip.

CRAFTY  RIVER                                          IRE     4M     newyearz5         P Michael         9/2
.
The summerset racing group sends out this light grey colt seeking a third straight win off a closing score at 8.5 furlongs,  smashing a 114 SP# from the middle of the pack.  Scratch bred Mastercraftman mister (by Red Ransom) took a local bred allowance at this route one before that,  sticking a 104 SP# from just off the early leaders.  His previous outing was a gaining 3rd in a NW3L allowance at a mile,  stabbing a 108 SP# from the back of the pack.  Late runner should loom large in the lane;  solid contender.

PROZAC  DREAM                                       FR     5G     eriedowns         S Collins         7/1
.
Light grey gelding was 3rd first off “the cut” in a $50,000 claimer at a mile and a quarter,  copping a 100 SP#  in a mid pack run.  Dream Well dancer,  out of the stakes placed sim mare Bbors Prozzene (by Cozzene) was a dreadful last of twelve in a NW5x allowance at 9 panels,  catching a 93 SP#.  One back of that he tired late for 5th in a local bred allowance at ten panels,  culling a 104 SP#.  Dunnvilledowns runner won his only two starts at his trip;  cuts back in distance,  but best days seem to be behind him.

 DISSIDICEAN                                                AUS     5F     newnewfydowns     E Newcomb         10/1
.
Our other distaffer is this blushing bay mare,  who exits a nice win in a NW2x allowance at 10 furlongs,  drilling a 111 SP# in a wire to wire score.  She tired to 3rd one before that making all the pace at 11 furlongs in a restricted allowance,  drawing a 101 SP#.  Dissident dame,  out of the sim mare Red Season (by Medicean) settled for 2nd in a 14 furlong marathon NW4x allowance in her prior try,  dropping an 88 SP# with her usual front running effort.  The lone speed in a race full of late runners,  she drops well back in distance;  $12,500 claim could upset them if allowed her own way on the front for the newfydowns operation.

NO  GOOD  CHOICE                                   AUS     5M     harrylan0         D Nickesy         2/1
.
The morning line favorite from the harrylan racing stables was an even 4th in the Manifest Destiny listed stakes at 8.5 panels last time over,  busting a 111 SP# in a stalking trip.  Boisterous bay horse won the Headlong listed,  also at 8.5 furlongs,  in his previous start,  blasting a 114 SP# tracking the early pace setters.  Redoute’s Choice romper,  out of the sim mare Roberto’s Cry (by Street Cry),  tired to 5th one back of that in the Wild Trips listed st 9 furlongs,  cashing a 108 SP# chasing a runaway winner.  Deserving favorite will be close to the early pace,  should pounce on the far turn and hold off the cavalry charge to the wire.

MOHINDER  SURESH                           SAF     5M     jbcri55             M Fontain         5/2
.
Bruising bay horse comes out of a stretch running 3rd in an open allowance at this trip,  nabbing a 109 SP# from way back in the pack.  Vercingetorix vet,  out of the sim mare More Good Feelings (by Reset) flew home for 2nd one before that in the same condition and distance,  nailing a 110 SP# from well back.  He was 5th in his prior run in a local bred allowance at 8.5 panels,  notching a 108 SP# showing his usual late foot.  Deep closer from the jbcri09 stable will be hoping for a hot pace to run into;  the handicapper likes his chances as the second choice on the morning line.

GUTHA  ZAIM  G                                         IRE     4M     jb3pigskin         C Feller         17/1
.
Last out of the paddock is this brutish bay colt,  who exits an OK 3rd in a restricted allowance at 11 panels,  tossing a 93 SP#.  Shamardal stepper,  out of the graded placed stakes winning sim mare Ryz Aim (by Not a Single Doubt),  closed well for 4th in a NW1x allowance at 8.5 furlongs,  throwing a 104 SP# from well back in the pack.  One before that he was 3rd in a NW2L allowance at 8.5 furlongs,  tabbing a 98 SP# in an even effort.  Runner from the jb3commish racing group gets no love from the handicapper at 17/1 odds,  but could luck into a share on best.

Good luck everybody,  and may they all come home fast,  safe and sound.

P.S.  And don’t forget the first JB3 Festival coming up on July 27th at virtual Micihigan Racecourse.  Please help support this interesting event with some entries in the varied individual races.
