Breeding Canadian #2

Breeding and 1st Runs of Band Aight and Deputy Country

It's been a little bit since my introduction article, and now I've got all 10 sires bred to, and will be releasing them in groups of two sires. The first two sires are Band Aight sired by Dixieland Band and Deputy Country sired by Silver Deputy.

Inspirational Band is the first breeding for Band Aight, and came out as a 2yo filly. Band Aight showed a preference to dirt sprints, and therefor I looked to bring Storm Cat into the picture. Inspirational Band's debut wasn't the strongest, but I still hold on to hope that she can turn around after finishing dead last in a field of 12. In her defense, it was a sloppy track, so I'll avoid the off tracks in the future.

I'll be sending her to a fast dirt track for her next race to get a feel for her dirt ability, then off to the turf if that doesn't work. Hopefully with a little experimentation, I will be able to figure out more about this sire for another breeding.

Deputy Dealing is the first breeding for Deputy Country, and came out as a 2yo colt. Deputy Country also shows preference towards sprinting, however I decided to start Deputy Dealing off on the grass. Deputy Dealing also started off on a yielding track, so I hold little trust in his poor speed ratings, and hope for a bounce back when he is sent out on a firm turf surface.

Basically thats all for now. Whenever these guys race, I will put out an update for that week to keep you updated.

Happy Racing Folks!
