When I see the runners like Insome Gold, Ultimate Diamond, and Gorilla Monsun running in a race I expect fireworks. This is a love fest of talented 3 year old runners that should provide plenty. Five consecutive wins including a grade one and a grade two, what more can you say? She is not likely to get the early lead in this one, but she doesn’t need it. She stays within striking distance before she unleashes hell. She is simply pure class!

A.P. INDY x STORM CAT x DANZIG

Career: 6 2 1 2 $719,500

Finished second in the Breeders Bowl Juvenile Filly, and third in the grade one Movieland Furity. She is no stranger to tough racing, and her pedigree suggests she should continue to improve. She likes the lead early, but when she does not get it you she usually fades. She hits the ground running at her best around 87 out of the gate, so will have to wait and see.

SEVEN FIGURES x PUT IT BACK x GREY DAWN II

I hope this horse does win, but something tells me 83 speed figure will not cut here. Put up seven bucks on a bet if you want, but don’t put up seven figures worth of sim cash!

Chargeittothegame, oh how easy it is to do! This Stormy Atlantic won last time out in allowances with a 91 speed figure. She more than likely will spend this race stalking, but not sure she can get it done here in this one. I like Stormy Atlantic just fine, and she has the Mr. Prospector on the end which is nice.

STAKE YOUR CLAIM

ACCLAMATION (GB) x EMPIRE MAKER x GONE WEST

She has fared well in the past as a two year old in graded racing, but she finished tenth last time out in a regular stakes race this year. I think she may very well like the longer distance here, or she may love turf. I would certainly try turf soon. She is a real wild card, and I think she can surprise us if she can come out of the funk she has been in lately.

GORILLA MONSUN

MONSUN(GER) x UNBRIDLED'S SONG x DEPUTY MINISTER

Career: 8 6 1 0 $386,315

Won the Movieland Starlet with an impressive 99 speed figure last year. She began this year with a disappointing grade three run. She finished eight in that race, so she needs to pick up the pieces this weekend. She may just want longer than 8.5 furlongs, and if so she will give this field fits on the track.

PATIENT PERDITA

SAKHEE x STORM CAT x SEEKING THE GOLD

Her last three dirt starts she put up speed figures of 90, 80, 91. Her 80 figure was graded competition. If she wants the lead early in this one she won’t get it, but she won’t stalk too far back. Will be interesting to see how she does in a tough race like this.

She has four wins in as many races with speed figures of 78, 74, 92, and 84. She has Awesome pedigree! I think she is a magnificent piece of work. I think it is possible she just needs the litmus test of graded competition. She may be the best runner in this field, and if she wins, she will prove it! Oh yeah, she also has best gate speed of any runner in this field. Can you say wire to wire!

BLUES IN THE NIGHT

DYNAFORMER x GIANT'S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x FUSAICHI PEGASUS

Career: 7 2 2 2 $85,542

Pedigree screams long, and maybe turf as well. She is going to have to pick up on her last regular stakes speed figure of 85. I would love to see her go on the turf. I think she has a shot in this one, but my money isn’t going to ride on her.

UFO CRASH SITE

EXCELLENT ART (GB) x BUCKAROO x MAJESTIC PRINCE

Career: 6 2 0 2 $27,345

I appreciate a good Excellent Art horse as I own a nice one myself, but if UFO Crash Site wins this race I will believe in UFO’s. She did win allowances last time out with an 84 speed figure.

VINDICATION x DAMASCUS x HOIST THE FLAG

Won allowances last time out this year with a 92. She showed excellent early speed, and you got to love the pedigree. Everything is going to hinge on how she does in a big race like this. I think she may surprise some, so she should be interesting to watch. She didn’t need fast gate speed last time out to stick close to the lead early. Will be interesting to see how she does when she needs to make up a lot of ground in a fast race.

SCREAMING MANTIS

STREET SENSE x KINGMAMBO x SADLER'S WELLS

If you name a horse Screaming Mantis she should motor, and this filly does just that. She has only raced MSW and allowances. Her speed figures have started at 74, then gone 82, 86, 87. She is showing a pension for improving and I love to see that. She has won her last three, and loved nine furlongs last time out. I have to see her being right in the thick of the action in this one. Got to love a Street Sense x Kingmambo!

AFLEET BULLET

AFLEET ALEX x RED BULLET x TWINING

Career: 10 3 2 1 $73,420

Her last time out she came closing with ferocity to win over eight furlongs with an 88 speed figure in allowances. That is impressive, but she has to show she can handle tougher competition, and she needs to overcome pedigree to some degree. I think she can be a very good runner, and maybe a very good stakes runner. I just don’t see her being top five in this one, but she has the potential for sure.
