No Feature Races to look at so will get straight into the local winners.

The first of four local winners was the actmonaro owned THE GHOST OF M(KY) who took out the Three Year Old Fillies Allowance race over nine furlongs beating the odds on favourite in doing so. She has been well placed by the stable in Allowances races recently and always tries her heart out. The Spring At Last filly has taken her record to 11 starts for 3 wins and 2 placings and $54,952 in stakes.

The improving two year old SEA THE STORM(IRE) was the next taking out the Maiden race for plugger. It was the first win from three starts for the Sea The Stars colt with his SP’s improving greatly and I can see him adding greatly to his stake earnings of $19,912.

The alagou stable were very confident going into the three year old Allowance over one mile with their unbeaten colt HSM(AUS) and they had few anxious moments during the three and a quarter length victory. He was a well supported second pick in the race and the son of Hussonet will win many more races.

The longest prices winner of the day was BAG O’BONES(AUS) for the kevinrudd stable in the six furlongs two year old Maiden race who held on to score in a very close finish. There was not much confidence from the stable after he showed early speed before fading at his only start to finish sixth however he still had an admirer in sabalou who was laughing all the way to the tote window after the surprise win.

PUNTING CORNER

Riding honours on the day went to C Wyatt with another outstanding riding display to fininsh with five winners from S De Berg and K Damo both finishing with doubles.

The straight six has paid a handsome dividend of $40,383 and was not won so it jackpots for another week.

I will be previewing both Stakes races The AMANDA JANE Memorial for the fillies and mares and the DALESBARK CUP for two year olds in the Buglar next week. Also on the card is the next edition of the GOLDEN OLDIES SERIES for Local Owners this time over the staying test of eleven furlongs.
