About the HOF

A word by Kingab...

Hello, and welcome to the Sim Racing Hall Of Fame. I would like to thank all of you that have taken the time to visit this beautiful hall. Here you will find the greatest retired horses that the sim has produced. It is quite an accomplishment for a horse to be honored here. I am sure their trainers are very proud to have them included here.

In time, the Hall-Of-Fame will also have a wing to honor the people that have made this great game what it is today. It will also have a wing with the racing records, and the oddities that make up this truly wonderful sim. The HOF will always be an ongoing project, and we hope that you come and visit it many times. It will always be open, and you will always be welcome. I would like to thank Will ( sledge4 ) who built this marvelous site. He still maintains it and continues to work to improve it. Without his efforts this place would remain just a dream. I would also like to thank Sharon ( snowchief ) and Laura ( topicount ) who wrote all of the stories for this first class, and will write all of the future inductees' biographies. Each one is unique and very interesting. I also have thank the forty-four board members who gave so much of their time and effort to make this possible. Last, but certainly not least, I have to thank Mike, for without his dreams and talents, this game simply would not exit.

A new class will be inducted every August, just as it is in real life.

The Inagural Class...

The fifteen horses that make up the inaugural class of the Hall-Of-Fame were not hastily picked. They were selected by the Hall-Of-Fame Committee, which is made up of forty-four of the most knowledgeable players in the sim, and each horse had to pass a number of strict requirements to be inducted. Quite a bit of time and effort went into these selections, and lots of discussion and mail were used in selecting these most deserving horses. You may not see a retired horse included in this class which you think should be in the Hall-Of-Fame, but that doesn't mean it won't eventually be in here. It's just that they didn't meet the requirements for this inaugural class.

To be included in this class a horse had to have won at least four grade-one races and nine graded races. In addition to those credentials, a horse must have at least one of the following on their resume to be inducted in this first class: The horse must have been an Eclipse Award winner, or must have won a non-two-year old Breeders Bowl race, or must have won at least twelve graded races. These fifteen outstanding horses are the only retired horses that met these standards.
